Childhood Dreams

Dreams are a big part of childhood. They show imagination, personality, and show how creative you can be. Childhood dreams can be forgotten, remembered, or turned into realty later in life. For Lori Holland her childhood dream became reality.
Lori Holland was born and grew up in Pennsylvania. Although loving her home state, Lori always wanted to leave and experience a new place. “It has always been a dream of mine to come to Alaska”, Lori said ”, I have always wanted a change”. When Lori finally came to Alaska in 2004, she experienced a major change. “ I like how Alaska isn’t over populated. It’s so free spirited and there is no judgment on what you have or what you wear,” she explained.
Lori currently lives in Cantwell Alaska about 30 miles south of Denali. As she explained to me, “nobody really lives in Denali. Denali is more of a tourist town built off of Denali National Park”. Right now Lori has a part time job at the Denali raft shop and also works part time at a jeep safari. “ I just got the part time job at the Denali raft shop about a month ago”, she explained to me. Lori plans on leaving Alaska and discovering someplace new. She isn’t sure where or when, but she hopes to have the same feeling of difference when she finds a new home.
There are many dreams that I have that will hopefully come true one day. I feel that Lori was a great role model because she followed her dreams, and they came true. Like I said before, dreams are a big part of a child’s life. Always set a dream, follow it, and try and reach it. If Loris dreams came true, couldn’t yours?
